PROJECT UPDATE

June 27th, 2025
 

Starting in early June, general contractor PDS Engineering & Construction along with site contractor, Pierce Construction mobilized on the site and started preparation work. June 13th a groundbreaking ceremony was held prior to the ramp up of site work. Excavation has begun and preparations for building footings and site utilities are underway.

The Southbridge Fire Station is more than 125 years old and does not efficiently support the operations of a 21st century fire department. The purpose of this web site is to provide information to the Southbridge community on the facility study process to address the needs of the fire station.

EXISTING 

Trucks and equipment barely fit through the doors, decontamination of trucks and gear is done outdoors, and the building does not meet many local, state and federal codes including ADA accessibility. These are just a few of the inefficiencies of the existing Southbridge Fire Station.

Plans and Renderings for a Worcester Street location have been developed and are available for viewing.
